MTV USED TO HAVE VIDEOS THAT REALLY ROCKED... Once upon a time MTV had videos that just made your hair stand on end... Maybe they still do, but I gotta tell ya that some of the early stuff from the 80s still, even today, looks and sounds just as good as when I was fascinated with my mouth hanging open watching them for the first time. ZZ Top was a very progressive band as far as their videos were concerned. The best, in my opinion (and besides, who gives a rat's ass what anyone else thinks anyway?) was the Rough Boy video. I apologize for the poor quality of this sample, but after one of my numerous computer crashes I lost my "full screen, Hi Def" version. Besides the computer graphics that were extremely advanced for 1980whatever, the music stands on it's own as having 2 of the very best "progressive blues" guitar solos ever, as well as the second best ass and pair of legs EVER!!! Enjoy.
Just because I really HATE all those "BOOM BOOM" Pieces 'O Crap that rattle my guts out while I drive down Bell Rd. : TAKE THIS!!!! Plans are officially in place, money, shipping, etc is being negotiated. We are go for blast off as soon as I can find a way to pay for the damn thing, mount it on a gimbaled table and wire and plumb it in. MUUWWHA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!

From the detail of the backgrounds, quality of the dialogue (both the scripts and the voice actors), animation that is just astounding compared to today's "run of the mill" minamalistic qualities, Johnny Quest was (in my opinion), [and besides that, nobody gives a rat's ass about YOUR opinion anyway!!!] really the Zenith of the hand drawn cartoons. Though there were only 26 original Prime Time episodes made, in reruns, on the Saturday morning cartoon schedule, this was MUST SEE TV for any "cool" kid on my block. And besides that, that blond 11 year old kid has had more adventures than my 25 year old bulb-counting Engineer son 'o mine or I could ever hope for!! But, WAIT!! There's MORE!!!! I am even including an ancient commercial for PF Flyers!!! You can see it here And That's Not ALL!!!!! Blue Man Group Stuff Pretty much everyone who knows anything about me knows I like the Blue Man Group just a bit too much... So in keeping with that idea, I seem to have, uhh, somehow gotten my hands a copy of the BMG performance at the Grammys a few years back. Just a bit of background: The neon costumes used in the performance by the backing band are more like what Cecily and I saw in Las Vegas. The band in Vegas played much of the time under a blacklight so the costumes worked better than on this video... Live, they put on SUCH an awesome show with all the effects and what not. This is a fairly large file and it does work better if downloaded. Just resize your player until the video is clear and then crank it up!! Get it here The Tonight Show with Jay Leno really helped the BMG get the word out.
