Troy's Take on Things
Preface Ok, it's like this: I am a white, 47 year old man (as of this writing). I am and have been a strictly blue collar worker my entire life. Even when I was a manager I was a blue collar manager because "hands on" is the only way to manage. Now it occurs to me that being a strictly blue collar, white male does not give me a lock on being tired of the term"politically correct", but it sure does seem like it. To me it seems like everyone in "The Upper Class" is so God Damned worried about terms like African-American, Public Sanitation Engineer, Displaced Person, Immigrant, Newspaper Blogger and all the rest of the New Age bullshit. I am sick and tired of having to say Happy Holidays, Ms., Domestic Partner, Urban Conflict, Person of Color and the other terms and conditions that make for "Sensitive Speech". Look, I don't say I am "Caucasian". I'm white, that guy is black, she is brown, and they are oriental. I am, they are. End of story. It's a fucking DESCRIPTION!!! It IS what we ARE!!! People: it is Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy New Year, Miss or Mrs., Black, Trash Man, Bum, Illegal Alien, Newspaper Columnist, Riot or whatever. I don't give a shit if some clown gets pissed off because I refuse to give them a title that makes them feel better. I don't call myself a "Technician", I'm a mechanic. I don't get my rocks off with some kind of Whoop-de-doo title that no one cares about. Big fucking deal, I fix cars and trucks, being called a "Technician" does not help me do my job... SO WHY BOTHER???? So after reading the above, if you are still here then you must either be curious, in agreement or totally outraged that I have the balls to say what 90% of everyone else is afraid to say. Well this is the mildest that I will be. From now on, this page will be full of all the outrage I feel at a world that is going straight down the god damned drain while everyone else is worried that no one is "respecting" their titles....
